Topic: linux hauppauge wintv pvr usb stuff

The Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB is a little(-ish) external USB 1.1 black box that takes component video in and puts a nice 6mbit MPEG-2 stream out over USB. Andreas Gal has written a driver to get this working under Linux, though some of the features (like the tuner) aren't yet supported. Nonetheless, I made a package of his driver and added what I think is working hotplug support for Mandrake 9.1. Click the "more" thingy for the links.

I also wrote a simple app in Gambas called PVRec that takes the MPEG-2 input stream and lets you save and view it simultaneously (or do either, or neither.) Here is the source, all 200 or so lines of it, and I made rpm's of that as well.

Yes, I know I was capturing "Stripperella". Yes, I know I'm not supposed to like it. Sometimes cheese is good.
